There are a lot of different oral problems people encounter. No one is exempted from it (except those who are orally hygienic). The most common problem people suffer from is that of tooth decay. This can be very painful (depending how grave the decay is) but of course, there are the dentists and orthodontists who can and will save you from your torment.

In the academe, Orthodontics and Dentistry are two separate courses. Orthodontics is a branch of Dentistry that deals with malocclusions that may or may not result to the irregularity of the teeth. Dentistry on the other hand, has a much more general scope and is defined as the treatment of all oral cavities.

No matter what their profession is defined, it is a fact that both of them are vital for our teeth care—we need them in order for us to maintain healthy teeth and gums

My dentist (also an orthodontist) is the one taking care of my toothaches. I admire her for not only having gentle hands when it comes to treating my teeth and gums, but also because of her pleasant attitude. She cares for her patients and treats them like her own son/daughter (or someone dear).

Orthodontists and dentists should treat their patients as their “family members”. They should not only think about the money that they will get upon treating their “patient/client” but they should also be caring for them (in all aspects) as well. People from all ages adore lovable dentists who do things not only because they “have to” or it’s their “profession”, but because it’s their “passion”.

a9.jpgAs they say, all doctors have their own specialization and yes even dentist! Specialized dentist or orthodontics, dealt with straightening and alignment of teeth. On a regular basis, the patient is advised to wear braces or retainer over a long period of time. Before proceeding to such operation, the orthodontist, as a rule, assess the patient’s teeth if it really needs such procedure.

When the braces are already in place, a monthly checkup should be religiously followed. This will involve regular teeth cleaning, consultations, and even braces adjustments. Perfect smile is just a one to two years away if you really desire to have one.
