History of orthodontics
There is anthropologic evidence that archaic dentistry (dental drilling) was practiced even as early as 9,000 years ago. Orthodontics however comes from the Greek words ortho which means “straight” and odons which means tooth. So literally, orthodontics means “straightening of the teeth.” In recent times, technology has helped a lot in the development of new techniques in orthodontics.
